This was s dad exprience one i don't wish to ever experience again there bar had limited stock no breakfast no entertainment (gala evening New years eve) the room was cold had to use duvet on duvet to keep warm how cold a polar bear would ask for a blanket

It was inexpensive and clean and close to the centre so you didn't need a taxi

The decor was shabby. There was no switch for the bathroom light so it was on constantly. Only 1 usable plug at the foot of the bed, too far away to charge and use phone at the same time. Shower went cold. Main outside door wouldn't open from outside.

Quality and price are equalize. It's not a fancy place, but you have everything you need to stay there. The bed was more comfortable than I thought and it has very nice location closed to the tower and the beach.

Hotel has recently been taken over by new owners. They'll need time to ad just. They were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location for the winter gardens.

No breakfast available at the hotel. It was cold when we first arrived but it did warm up later and was not an issue. The bar was open but only had cans of beer, nothing on draft.

Great location good value for money

The location was perfect for the trip we were on pigeon weekend. This hotel is central to all the places were we needed to go.

We booked here again because we came the year before and loved the fact it had a proper bar beer on pumps, this time under new owners it was just cans of lager, beer available to purchase. Not the same we felt slightly disappointed and the prices were slightly unreasonable charging prices you would pay for a pint but these were not pint size cans. Had the beer been on tap we would have spent our money there and not in the pubs and bars around the area.

We literally used the oxford hotel as a base to get changed and sleep for one night as we were there for an event which was on at the winter gardens, it suited us down to the ground as it was a stones throw from the venue.

Shower failure

Single en suite room which is all I needed. Tea/coffee/kettle. Very clean. Tv actually worked (sometimes they dont) Radiator wasn't on all the time but it wasn't a particularly cold night Very good value for money, relatively quiet area. Staff polite.

Shower head fixed and water leaking out bottom of the door, also can't turn it away to get a nice temp, I'm not getting in a cold shower! I did report it but was told it was ok (it wasnt) Had to boil kettle to wash. Hot tap on sink just a trickle Decor is dated and paint peeling off window frames but didn't really bother me. Always a nice touch to get your bag carried up the stairs I think but didn't happen Mattress very bouncy/soft but not uncomfortable

Great hotel for the price.

The hotel is very worn and dated but refurbishment has begun. Check in was simple, pleasant and friendly. Our room was an ample size and clean and definitely needed upgrading but as this is already ongoing we had no complaints whatsoever. The hotel is in an excellent location 5 mins from the prom and Tower. A walk to the nightlife is also only 5 mins. All in all I would have no problem staying here again and will book the same place next time we return.

The lift is very small, dark and has no internal doors,we used the stairs. Every step you take around you corridors and room has loud creaking floorboards. No chance of going in at night without making a noise.

I wish the new management good luck, but ,in the meantime, Room 39 should not be used by Booking.com

The location was perfect for visiting central attractions. I really wish the new owners the best of luck. They have only been in the place about 3 weeks and are clearly struggling to cope with the English language and the huge challenges they face. with the state of the hotel. When requested they promptly supplied an extra pillow.

The tube lights above the bed and above the bathroom mirror were both broken. The only place to hang clothes was behind the door, The bathroom was the worst I have ever encountered on all my Booking.com stays. The toilet and washbasin were ostensibly white ,but had large traces of a salmon pink colour partly scratched off. The shower took ages to run warm and by the time I had applied soap, it packed up altogether. There was much damp on the exterior wall, which became worse after some overnight rain.Some of my medication and toiletries I had placed on the window ledge ,as there was no shelf,were wet . There were some black marks and cracks. The condition of the vinyl flooring was poor..Had I been staying more than one night pre-paid I would have walked out.

OK value for money needs upgraded.

Good location comfy bed. Heating was good as nice and warm as was cold outside. Manager was very welcoming.

Door to room not secure enough. Keyhole where you could clearly see through which I had to cover. Alot of light from corridor shine into room had to cover door. Window broke and boarded. Dated and needing decorating. Floor outside of room very noisy when others walked by room.
